Magirus 170d11 Noise in 2. Gear. Should I worry?

Hi

Suddenly my truck has started to make a noise in 2. gear. It is a "rrrrrrrrrrrr" metallic. If I hold the gearstick the noise disappears. It is only in 2. gear. Seems to be a vibration that comes up through the gearstick.

Any experiences? Should I not use the gearbox at all, or can I just avoid 2. gear? Or is it "normal"?

Hi Peter,

did you check the gear linkage if no parts are loose and if guidance is ok? I don't think the noise is coming out of the gearbox...

Hello Peter,

I am 170 D driver as well and encountered similar behave with noise.
However I realized meanwhile that it doesn't come from the gearbox itself. I found out that it is the stick itself because the handheld- bowle at the upper end (what you hold in hand) contain a little screw-nut inside wich was wobbeling (loose hold) and cause the metalic noise.
