Please can anybody help me

Sorry i dont speak german.

I have a 1988 MB 1017A (OM352A engine ) and i need to replace the two identical V belts that run next to each other around the top pully and the bottom pully and the Alternator ( electricty generator ) They are adjusted by the Alternator .

I know that they are the same and that they are 12.5mm wide, but I cannot find out how long they are .

Can anyone help me with this measurement

Maybe You'll get some help, if You provide us some photos of those v-belts.

Ein Foto der Keilriemen dürfte kaum weiterhelfen, um die Länge zu bestimmen, oder?

(I don't think a picture of the v-belts will help to determine the dimensions.)

Wird nix bringen, die Beschriftungen dieser V belts, / Keilriemen sind sicher unlesbar geworden.
Wer noch lesbare auf seinem Motor hat , der kann ja mal einen Blick darauf werfen.

I have searched the EPC but cannot find the belts dimensions or even a part number for them ( I might be missing them, sometimes things arent where you think they should be on th EPC )

The vin is WDB 38011315418690

Es ist ein ex-Bundeswehr 1017A. Die zahlreichen Besitzer solcher LKW sollten also die Keilriemengröße kennen und hier posten können.

Ich kann leider nicht im EPC nachschauen, da ich mit einer Virusinfektion im Bett liege.

Hello Neil,

thank you for the good wishes. I just remembered to look into my military manuals (TDv) for the german army's Mercedes-Benz 1017A model!

It says:
up to VIN's last numbers 5 064 562, the belt size is 12,5 x 1325 mm (2 belts)
from VIN's last numbers 5 064 563, the belt size is 12,5 x 1450 mm (2 belts)

As your VIN is WDB 380 113 15 418 690, you will likely need the 12,5x1450 belts!

I just checked EPC and with your VIN, it says the belt size is 12,5x1325 mm?

Maybe you can do a rough measurement with a rope or something to be sure if it is 1325 or 1450 mm outer length? If not, I would trust the military manual rather than EPC ...
