Hello everyone!
We are new to this forum and very excited to be part of a German overland site. We are the proud owners of a Mercedes 911 la and need some information about Egypt. We have noticed that most of our European friends seem to enter via Libya- Is this because Egypt charges a large 'road tax' for trucks if you enter from Jordan???
Does anyone know what the 'road tax' charges are for a truck our size?? (We are looking for the best way to drive to South Africa.)

The road tax in Egypt is on every border the same. The Problem from Jordan is the Ferry 210 US. From Lybia is the Guide you have to take the Problem. So we decide to go back over Jordan again. The guide in Lybia costs a lot an it's a foreinger in the car.....
