Hi,
Im now done with All the trivial rust repairs and painting on my 168M11 and is ready to start the construction of the camper box. I want to build the base frame in 50x80x4 square tubing, and then errect 50x50x3 from the frame to make up the sides and top. Any comments on these spec's? I Think it Will give mé a fairly rigid construction that Will also allow a small inflatable boat to be stored ontop of the box when i want to bring that.
I Will use 2mm alu plate on the outside, 50 mm foam for insulation and then 10-12 mm plywood on the inside. I need to construct the steel frame to give max support of the Windows and floors though so need to get them purchased asap.
Are the Seitz Windows the best option considering the price? I have seen only extremely expensive options and if not expensive then some flimsy alternatives from caravans only? Also im a bit in the blind with the door, any idea if there is any good online shops in germany with All these parts? Any leasons learned Will be appriciated.
The box Will be approx 2,3 meter wide, 5 meter long and 2 meter high.
Rgds Allan

2mm alu plate on the outside,
50 mm foam for insulation
10-12 mm plywood on the inside.
just my 2 cents: oversized, much too heavy!

Re: Seitz fenster etc
I would take :
1mm alu plate on the outside,
40 mm foam for insulation
6 mm plywood on the inside.
Thats stable enough...

Re: Seitz fenster etc
... that's me ... I have alraedy installed windows and door from airpabst ...
I don't have any longtime experience with this products, but so far I'm fully satisfied!
I will get my servicedoors in some days, it's the same system like window and door. I will have a large service-door in the dinette with window - like Bimobil.
Fly-screens and sunblinds for windows will come soon, I have seen them already - perfect - very stable and comfortable.
Much more stable than Seitz, much cheaper than KCT - best choice for me!
... I'm not related to or receive any provision from airpabst

Jonson, thanks for the advice, i had a feeling i was oversizing the steel work.
The Airtec really looks a lot better and more rigid compared to Seitz. Will try and get a quote for windows.
