Hello,

Do all Iveco 90-16 have frost protection for the brakes (frostschutzer) and glow plugs (vorglühanlage)?

I was reading the manual for Iveco 90-16 and there are indications the vehicle should have frost protection for the brakes with a container of methyl alcohol.
However, my truck does not have this. Are all Iveco 90-16 equipped with anti freeze for the brake system (frostschutzer)?

Secondly, winter starting according to the manual can be done with the glow plug (vorglühanlage). We should turn the key between setting 1 and 2 and wait for the light on the dashboard to turn on. However, I kept the key in the setting before cranking the engine, and no light turns on. Also, when I click the "test" button on the dashboard, the glow plug lamp does not light up. Are all Iveco 90-16 equipped with glow plugs (vorglühanlage)?

Cheers and health to you all in these strange times!

The 90-16 mostly use an air dryer in the compressed air system. So it don't need frost protection.
Glow plugs you can actovate on the 1. Step of starter.
It is needed only below -10°C

Hi Lura,

I just tested the glow plug again and it works! I had to hold the key for over a minute. Once the light turned on I cranked the engine and kept holding it for about 30 seconds. I could hear the "after burner" humming in the background. Since it is +20c here, I ended the test there. But good to know the "flame thrower" works.

Regarding the brakes, noted. In that case, I suppose the rig is ready for winter driving, should it ever come to it! Now, onto installing the wood stove...

That's right with the glow plug, when the light starts to work, it's time to start.
Yes, the 90-16 is good lorry indeed.
