I think those are the lower (slow axles). I’m not sure though.

Ok. I’m looking at an AK this week and trying to figure out if it will cruise at 100kph ok. It seems some of these trucks aren’t register so a test drive is a challenge.
Do you have any knowledge on changing the planetary gears? Is that something that can be done on these trucks?
I thought of the tires, but I think I can only gain about 10% which still puts truck cruising at nearly 1900. Seems like that’s near max RPM for engine.Pirx hat geschrieben: ↑2024-03-29 14:44:24Hi sprocket3!
Not 100% sure, but IIRC there are no planetary gears with a different ratio. The usual way to change the axle ratio ist to swap the differentials.
Anyway, in my opinion there ist no need to work on the axles. Just put on bigger tyres (14.00R20 should be great) and you are fine.
The Trilex wheel system could be with special axles designed for it or with standard axles and Trilex-Adapters. With the adapters, a change of the wheels should be no problem.

I’ve done differential gear changes on light duty trucks and it was a headache. What’s the cost on an SK for a well done diff change? Seems like something that could costs 15,000 euro.Borsty hat geschrieben: ↑2024-03-29 15:33:22Otherwise you have only this possibility for change to Single. Trilex-Tublex Single Tire Switch.
This is the only safe way and no rim cut or anything. It's like Pirx writes. If it is a disc wheel rear axle then a Trilex adapter is installed. Otherwise a narrow trilex rear axle. These Parts to convert are not all longer available. Another Rims from US or Australia have not the same Angles and distances like GF from Europe. Looks the same, but it's not.
There are 3 different gear ratios for planetary sets( i have only for the outer Sun Wheel the 19 tooth and 25 tooth on my head), but not for every axle type. This would have been available for my axle, but not every part is available anymore.
Here too, the easier way and certainly available is what Pirx writes and you swap the differentials.

Unfortunately I can no longer find the gear ratios for the 3 Types
Thank you so much for posting those photo. It's definitely got the Trilex Hub on the back. I think it's the adapter on the front though. I didn't take very good photos of the front when i was there.Borsty hat geschrieben: ↑2024-04-03 7:22:27Sorry for the late answer. Unfortunately the numbers don't mean anything to me
This is a Adapter from rear as example This is the Trilex rear wheel hub You can see that the hub is detached.
And this is the Adapter in Front You see the 10 bolts brake drum with the Adapter.
On page 217 you can see what they look like at Mercedes or MAN or Scania.
Many people don't recognize at first glance whether they are adapters or Trilex axles and some people barely know the system.

No Problem. So, i think you have a Swiss version with a width of 2.30m. In this case, the handlebar/push rod is also more bent so that the wheels have space at the front. What irritates me about the data card is the code R88 Tublex rims 8.25-22.5, narrow, for 12 R 22.5 sales but not the axle and the adapters.sprocket3 hat geschrieben: ↑2024-04-03 16:06:05

Assuming this, what would be the budget to convert rear to standard hubs? I did a lot of reading and it sounds way more complicated that one would expect. Not just changing the hub.
Well I don't think i should buy this truck now. I really need to be have Single rear tires and have a standard wheel system. Thank you very much for the help sorting this out. I had hopes that it was something that could be changed easily.Borsty hat geschrieben: ↑2024-04-03 21:31:40No Problem. So, i think you have a Swiss version with a width of 2.30m. Unfortunately, there is no longer any material available to swap to normal hubs and is very complicated. In addition to the hubs, the brake drums would also have to be replaced, etc. In terms of price, you can almost get a new axle. For single tires the only way is what I had done. Officially with papers and registered to the vehicle. A rim without a tire instead of a twin wheel is rubbish. In a pinch, yes, but not for a longer trip.

Is there a good site that most of the trucks are listing on there? I have been using mobile.de and autline.com and thought that would pull the Switzerland trucks too.Borsty hat geschrieben: ↑2024-04-04 7:25:59I understand. Unfortunately, it's not easy and it's not cheap either. I went this route because I didn't want to get too wide and I liked the Trilex system firstly and secondly because it was easy to mount on wheel bolts without having to center the rim. I just have to turn the driver stop appropriately and this can be done very easily by hand when the wheel is resting on the Trilex adapter. No need to lift a lot of weight, everything is easy with the assembly levers and tubes that are part of the system. My intervertebral discs thank me. I would have been happy with a normal wheel system but with Trilex adapters. But the Trilex system was already anchored in my head.
Good luck with your further search. I would also extend this to Switzerland as good vehicles are always offered here at normal prices. For example
