I'm trying to find technical information on the best mounting strategy / mounting points on the driving cabin.

I've tried using the search function in this forum but since I'm using google translate i'm either not using the right german term or it hasn't been discussed yet. Either way, does anyone have any information? (by the way, the help you've provided in my other threads has proven very useful, many thanks!).

I had a 170 D 11for several years. The drivers cab may be a little weak for such a load, so it would be adviseable to create an inner structure to cope with the loads of the Cabover and prevent the cabin from collapsing at the next bumb...

Any ideas on the best points to transfer the loads?

My idea would be to bring them closest possible to the front and rear mounting points of the cabin, and to the sides where the "B"-pillars are, there is a strenghtening wall running across the cabin. I would attach it there.
A few years ago I saw a vehicle in Portugal of someone who did that, but unfortunately I did not manage to talk to the owners and later on I heard that the vehicle burned down in a huge wildfire, fortunately at least the owners were saved, although they lost everything in that fire. Sad story.

That's super unfortunate, considering how much work and love we all end up putting into our vehicles...

But thank you for the additional reference photos! It's reassuring to see that multiple people have done this before! And yes, I had noticed that the B-Pillars were pretty strong, I'm actually a bit worried about the corners of the cab because of the windows that wrap around...

I like topsleepers too, so i called Goldbecker years ago.
They said, that they can build again such a cabin, weight will be around 180 to 200kg, price around 7000 to 8000 Euro.

Building it by yourself will be much cheaper i guess.

Wow... That's a gorgeous cabover box...

Kind of makes me wonder if the space cabs available in Europe might be found here in Canada... I'll do some digging. Maybe they have a distributor here or a company specialises in the same thing.
