heating for mb 1017

#1 Beitrag von tintas » 2014-01-09 20:25:41

I have 1017 mb, and I need a heating for water and another for shelter, I want it to be diesel.
I know that the heaters are on the market, but i do not know which one to choose, for these functions, I want to be durable, which consumes little power (batteries).
Someone has to give me an opinion, I have many doubts.

Hi
Check this out ,wwweberspacher.com , its one of the best, i gonna use one in my MAN and really happy with. Its a bit more expensive, but u gonna save the money in the long term use and the close to zero maintenance . Another plus is u get them like Truma all around Europe.

Thanks geronimo to responding.
yes eberspacher is very good, i have old eberspacher and webasto(benzin) in my older timer mercedes 409.
For the mb 1017, what is the best choise, eberspacher hydronic warm water with radiators(shelter) or airtronic heater?
The eberspacher warm water, it must work with a nautic boiler ( isotemp), to make hot water for the shower?
I can not decide, what is the best for heating, if the radiator warm water or airtronic heating for the shelter.

Hi,

there are lots of pros and cons for both heating Systems.
Water with Radiators is not so loud.
The air-humidity is not effected (air-system will dry out the air).
You can use the water cooling System of your engine whilst you are driving to heat - providing you do not have an air cooled engine.

Problems from my Point of view - just to mention some of them for water system:
- more complicated Installation
- you need space for the Radiators - that may be in conflict with the furniture.
- Needs more electric power for the water circulation.
- Needs longer time to heat up or cool down.
- risk of leakage

For air heating it is vice versa.

So the heating is part of the whole system / cabine you are planning! I think you need to include that into your decission process!
For me the air heating was the better solution - for lots of other people the water System.

yes, nice poit of view Joe.
The air heating it´s more simple to instale, it´s true, i was thinking to chose that system.
My shelter will have 4,80L x 2,45w x 2m height and 60cm wall thickness.
For the water heater, i have a question, we need a nautic boiler to work with water heater?
I think without a nautic boiler, much water is wasted while waiting for it to warm.
Thanks for the attention Joe.

Hi,

re. Nautic Boiler I have written down my solution here (it is in english).

And I am for 100% sure that your wall-thickness is not 60 cm but 60 mm!! :joke:

60mm yes, i´m sory. :wack:
I´m living in Paris, so it´s many language, french, portuguese and english.
If i want to stay 2 or 3 weeks without move the truck, i will not start the engine every time i need warm water.
That´s why i talk about the water heater with the nautic boiler, or am I completely wrong.
I do not know very well the system.

Hi,
the nautic Boilers I know only have electric heating - plus the hoses through which the hot water from the engine is circulating. So to heat the water over a longer period you need an additional water heating facility (Eberspächer Hydonic e. g.).
And once again, pls. read the article - I hate to repeat things which I have already published.
