Hello,
Has anyone on the forum considered making an "Overland" cabin from a 10' ISO Shipping Container?
These cost around 1000 Euro brand new and will flex when on a twist lock frame.
There is a firm in England that produce all the spares so a custom build is possible using insulated panels and wood.

10' containers usually are quite heavy as they are made to be stacked 8 units high..
if the container flexes (i doubt that), it will rip apart whatever you build into it. the carrier frame has to even out the movement of the chassis.
"shelter" cabins usually are the better choice, as they are pre-insulated.
if you like to do the "perfect insulation" without heat leaks, you are talking custom made cabins anyway..

10' ISO Cabin
Hello "Landwerk" you can view:-
www.conpargroup.co.uk (This firm does all the spares needed to build custom cabins and repair damaged ones)
www.bootlecontainers.co.uk (This place I know and will build all custom versions from 10' to 40')
I think now there is available new also a 6' and 8' versions suitable for small trucks.
Hope this helps.
I am in the process of looking at building something as two firms in the EU have said around 10,000 Euro to build an insulated cabin of this size.

10' ISO
The 10' ISO is designed to slight flex at the vital areas when lifted/moved and often is fitted out as a fridge unit with foam insulated walls and slatted base inside.
The insulation is able to keep food safe for some time even if the fridge breaks down so I am told keeps people cool/warm when converted into leisure cabins with windows on the side.
Standard size is 10'L x 8'W x 8'H. Weight unladen is 1000-1200 KG.
