Ideas wanted - threads stripped on oil refill plug on transfer case, Iveco 90-16 AW

Moin,

I was checking all oil levels on the Iveco 90-16 AW a few days ago. As I started unscrewing the 17 mm oil refill plug on the transfer case to check the level, the plug came out strangely and with stripped threads. It is now loose in the whole when screwed back in. The offending people are a workshop in Poland who serviced the car 6 months earlier. I saw them over-torquing every bolt with all strength humanly possible.

Does anyone have suggestions for how to mend this issue? I believe there are re-threading kits available on the internet. I am on a parking lot in Portuguese mountains with villages around, so my options are to call over a mechanic, or order parts from the internet and send to a local post office and do the job myself.
