Deutz 413 v6 pushrod seal

Hi I have some leaking pushrod seals. Is there an easy way to change them on the V- engine?

I do not clearly understand your question. What do you mean with "pushrod"?
Or can you place a picture here?

... und das ist beim 413-er ziemlich beschissen gelöst ... entweder muss der Zylinderkopf runter oder die Vertilfedern raus ...

... on other enginetsypes Deutz offerde a very good solution to change this sealings ... on the 413 V-engine you have to remove the zylinderhead or the valve springs ...

i did this job at my F8L413F and i´m pretty sure that this is the same procedure on F6L413.

First, clean the valve cover and the push rod pipes all around! Otherwise dirt will come in the engine while you working an it.

Now the first step, remove the valve cover.

After that, remove both nuts on top of the rocker arms assembly. Now you can remove it easily. Below tho rocker arm assembly are 2 oo-rings and a sort of metal shim.

After that easy part you can pull out the push rods. Be sure not to change left and right. I think there can be small differences in the length. Now the hard part. You have to pull out the pipes. I have thik fingers, so i can put one finger in it, bend it and pull as strong as you can. May you can use your second hand to help from outside. But never ever use a pliere ore something like that. You will damage the pipe immediately! It´s not very taff.

On the pipe a 2 seals, i think red o-rings made of silicon. Replace it. Clean the mating surface and put some fresh clean oil to the new o-rings and mating surfaces.

Press the pipe back in place.

Bring the push rods back in place.

Replace the two o-rings between head and rocker arm assembly. They are cheap but important for the lubrication of the rocker arms.

Bring the rocker arm assembly back in place. Tighten up the nuts with 30Nm, wait a cigarette turn each nut 30°, wait a cigarette, turn each nut 30°, wait a cigarette and turn each nut a last time 30°.

Check the valve clearance and if necessary adjust it. Intake valve 0,2mm outlet valve 0,3mm.

Glue the new valve cover sealing to the cover with Kuril K or something similar and tighten up the screw with only 12Nm. If it´s a spongee feeling to tighten up the screw, don´t try it longer. The cover is bent and to weak. Leave it like it is or buy a new one.

If it is only the rockerarms that need to be removed it may not be too bad a job.

it´s not that worse other people told. I guess one day for all cylinders including adjusting the valve play for beginners.

Are the parts cheap in Germany?

The Danish distributor wants 20 euro for each pipe seal and 8 euro for each rocker arm seal. So almost 60 euro per cylinder...

JFW sells the complete set of gaskets for a cylinder unit at 54 Euros. This sounds ok to me. Look here:

Hi Peter,

in Germany we have Ebaykleinenzeigen. I think the rest of the world call it Kijiji. There you can find some cheap parts from dealers.

For example click I think this will fit to you and your work. So you can reseal the oil drain line too. The green seals i don´t know for that they are. You don´t need them.

Included are

o-rings for the rocker arms, the srew for the valve cover, the 4 seals for the push rod pipes, the seals for the oil drain line and the seal for the valve cover.

He wrote 10€ plus taxes and shipping.
