Increasing power from MBZ OM 401.914

Is it possible to get more horsepower from the OM 401.914 motor without adding a turbo?

Has anybody added a turbo to the OM 401?

Hi Joaquin,

30 - 40 additional hp should be possible by increasing the diesel injection volume.

The low-end option is to turn the injection volume screw until the engine throws out too much soot.

High-end option is to put the injection pump on a test bench to find the optimal adjustment for all charge states.

Mercedes offered the V6 turbocharged with 330HP .
Unfortunately I don´t have the specs at hand.
Manufacturing years were the early 990ies from the last millenium.

Fitting the motor with a turbo is possible for sure. Main problem will be the danger of overheating the engine. Is the OM401 fitted with a piston crown cooling?
