Hello
I will drive from Denmark to Southern Spain (onwards to Morocco) this january.
My 11 tons Magirus Deutz 170d11 is from 1972 and therefore a "veteran truck".
I know that there are different rules between cars and trucks, but are there also different rules between veteran/camper trucks and normal trucks?
In Deutchland I have to pay some road taxes to drive on the road with a truck (possible to buy at a gas station in Denmark), do these also apply to my veteran truck?
In Deutchland a truck is normally not allowed to drive on sundays. Does this also count for me?
Are there other Deutch rules that I should know?
What are the rules for France and Spain? Do they make a distinction between an old firefighter campertruck and a standart freight truck or are the prices the same?
For the record; My truck is registered as a veteran truck, not a camper. It has licenceplates similar to other trucks but I am not allowed to transport goods in it for money.
Hope you have some ideas!

You don't have to pay road toll in Germany, but having a "truck" according to your papers you are indeed not be allowed to drive on Sundays. Regarding the Sunday rule, there's no difference between commercial and non-commercial use of the vehicle.
Chances are that no one will be bothered to check, but officially only "other vehicles" (Sonstige Kraftfahrzeuge) above 7,5tonnes are exempt from the Sunday rule.

Re:
Unfortunately, this is wrong. Starting from 1st of October 2015 (this means tomorrow), you will have to pay road toll for a truck if its weight exceeds 7500 kg.Wilmaaa hat geschrieben:You don't have to pay road toll in Germany, ...

Re: Roadtaxes and rules through europe
16.4 cents / km (2 axles, Euro 0 category)
I need to drive 737Km to get from the Danish/Deutch border to Luxembourgh.
So around 120 Euro.
Oh well

But wait, there is a loophole:
https://www.toll-collect.de/en/web/publ ... eiung.html
"Vehicles not intended exclusively for the transport of goods, nor used for this purpose"
I have gone thorugh the registration procedure and there are two options for excemption: Mobile home og Veteran truck
I have chosen the latter.
But I guess all you german owners have to do the same registration procedure?
It is pretty easy: https://www.toll-collect.de/en/web/publ ... eiung.html
