Hi Peter,

I don't think that someone will drive to Afghanistan only because the diesel fuel is better there.

Sulfur in diesel means better lubrication and sulfur-rich diesel is for this reason the better fuel. It also clogs the diesel particulate filter in new trucks, but who wants to use such a machine in Central Asia or Sub-Sahara Africa?

Regards,
Lew

Hi

Well I just found it interesting :-)

Perhaps someone who has a newer truck can avoid the "bad" places and we with older trucks can add some two-stroke oil to the tank in all the sulfur-poor countries :-)

Thanks Peter this is very interesting information for all the drivers with Euro5 and Euro6 engines.
The list is quite positive although the information seems to be from some years ago.
"The specified country-specific sulfur bandwidths only apply for the point in time when they were surveyed between summer 2007 and winter 2009/2010.
It must be assumed that there will be a reduction in sulfur content in the future, not an increase. "
Can we conclude that in a 2 or 3 years low-sulfur and ad blue will be available all over the world ?

all the best Campo

I am surprised by this list. I just drove through Mexico and found 2 gas stations with low sulphur diesel, one in Mexico City and one on the US Border. Pemex has announced plans to have low sulphur diesel available in alll of Mexico in the future (whatever that means).
Regards Stefan
