All,

I wanted to start this discussion to listen to experience of those who travel in relatively modern trucks with Euro 3/4 engines. The idea of this discussion started after coming across a Swiss couple and their 4 extremes expedition travel project - https://www.4-xtremes.ch/

First of all, the entire travel projects looks great and mirrors my future long term travel plans. Second of all, this really make me wonder of how the trucks with Euro 3/4 engines perform along the route. It appears they did not have any engine technical issues but maybe this was down to their luck. I would be quite worried about electronics failing and being stuck in the middle of Siberian road or somewhere in Mongolia. Or somewhere in the mountains of Iran or the Himalayas?

So, do you guys have any first hand experience with travelling in modern trucks.

Btw: does anyone on here know this Swiss couple? I sent then an email to the address on their website but no response so far.

By the way, Euro3 is not modern ;) Mine is from 2001 and the only problems I have is the particle filter, which don*t like non Western European Diesel .... modern is for me Euro 5 up ;)
