The idea stolen by ENFATEC bud changed the construction "my way"
The steel has been plasmacut confirm the Autocad drawing i made













That's for now on...., the sandwich panels have been ordered, they will arrive in week 38

wow!! Heavy Metal!! Looks perfect! I hope your construction will have an integrated support frame in the cabin´s ground construction!?!? Otherwise for my feeling a little bit too much additional height which will effect / reduce the cabin's dimensions.

The cabin will have an integrated support frame ( inside)! don't worry
The total hight of this construction is 22cm...., not that much I thought?! ( looks may be higher??)Mercedes gives the advice to have a minimum hight of 20cm above the wheels...... so 22cm isn't much more...!

sexy! Like the other writers: A little bit heavy, but it looks very professional. Perfect placement on the vehicle-frame. It will work in every situation. 22cm is the idle high, otherwise the space to the vehicle-frame and the wheels would be to small for serios off-road use.

A litte Note: When you build the support-frame for the cabin notice, that you use rubber for the fixed, middle bearing. The outer bearings are made of steel. So vibrations would onely be supportet by the steel-bearings, in case of vibrations the rubber would conduct as if it is not there. Pay attention to this, when you make the plannins for the support-frame.

On the other hand, a cabin is onely strong in its corners, so it would bring a lot stability itself near by the steel-bearings. And this would be the next Note: The rubber-bearing is the onely bearing that supports "right/left" forces. But the cabin does not bring a lot of stability in its middele. So enshure that the support-frame would avoid torsion to the cabin-structure.

I hope my english is good enaugh to explain what i wanted to say...

I have also built my box alone. I am wondering a bit - your side panels are made with a wooden frame?!

How to connect them to each other? Did you just use glue and L-shaped aluminium profiles?

Ist eine der Platte aus Holz, oder sind beide Platten so aufgebaut das nur am Rand Holz ist?
Wie ich sehe hast du die Platten geschraubt. Oder täuscht das?
Hast du die Platten noch verklebt an den Holzverbindungen?

As you can see, the floorpanel has a wooden frame inside with about the same sizes as the aluminium frame....
The alu frame will be filled up with pur and glue after the gas/water/electra-lines have been mounted. The wooden floor will be glued too!
The screws were just to keep the panel in place during the drying proces of the glue ( 2-k glue)..., they could be removed now ( but i won't do that.... )

This construction is calculated and verry strong!!!

Kommt da noch Fussbodenheiung rein / obendrauf?

Hast du einmal dein Fahrzeug leer (ohne Rautenlagerung und Koffer gewogen?

Ich bin mal gespannt wie schwer der Wagen mit dem Koffer ist.

es wäre schön wenn du uns die Daten mal geben könntest.

Koss, hast du keine Bedenken, dass bei einem Temperaturunterschied von bis zu 60° Sommer / Winter , der Kofferboden GFK gegenüber dem Aluminiumrahmen sich nicht unterschiedlich ausdehnt? oder bewohnt Ihr das Fahrzeug das ganze Jahr, so dass hier innerhalb des Fahrzeuges keine so grossen Temperaturunterschiede auftreten werden?

Alpha bei Holz ist 8 gegenüber bei Aluminium von 23.

Ansonsten würde ich wahrscheinlich statt dem seitlichen Kleber an dem Profilrahmen lieber ein wenig Abstand zur Kofferwand zur Ausdehnung lassen

Obendrauf...., I'm planning to go to the sunny ( ) side of the world... and would only need it during cold nights with a lot of stars.....

Forgot it now but i'm gona lift the cabin once (for painting the chassis) and will weight the chassis then.....

The glue between the aluminium and the panels ( floor and walls is specialy for glueing different materials ( quite flexible)

One of my (probably stupid) questions:
You fix your cab at the backside, at the center and at the front, right?
Is somebody here to explain me in German or English the reason for the center axle?

das ist eine Rautenlagerung, das vordere und das hintere Lager sollen die flexibilität in Querrichtung gewährleisten, das mittleres Lager dient der flexibilität in Längsrichtung. Deshalb drei bzw. eigentlich vier Lagerstellen da die mittlere an beiden Aussenseiten aufgelegt ist.

Danke, verstanden. Vom Bewegungsablauf leuchtete mir eine §- Pkt- Lagerung leichter ein.
Angesichts der Diskussion um die gezeigte sehr stabile Ausführung stellt sich mir die Frage, welche Dimensionierung für einen 7,49t LKW angebracht ist. Hat wer schon mal Materialberechnungen angestellt?
