Zeppelin FM II structural cross beams within walls
OK, our project struggles on..
We got our Seitz S4 windows today, and I was wondering how they should be installed I ran into a small problem. I've read from these forums that there are structural cross beams inside Zeppelin FM II container, and that they should be situated 102cm from each end (measured from inside). And indeed, there seems to be something inside judging by the distortion in the reflecting light at that spot and the hotter surface temperature resulting from poorer insulation. But as I was thinking wether I should move our kitchen window left or right, I saw similar signs of hidden beams at 40 cm from the rear end of the container.
My question is: What's in there at that spot and does it ran from top to bottom. My guess is that there is something to support the ladders outside. Is it safe to make a cut at a spot that's not directly behind a ladder piece?

Re: Zeppelin FM II structural cross beams within walls
Hello,
the FM2 is designed for 5 to military use and You can stack it three times! I guess this will be some 7.5 to in commercial use. So I don't care about the beams. I cut my windows were I wanted them. If You damage Your container so that the windows will Pop out or the sidewall is bent - You will probably have ANOTHER BIG Problem!

What kind of a tool are you referring to when you say "you cut something out with a Flex"? Is it an angle grinder or a reciprocating saw (säbelsäge) or what? It seems to me that Flex is only a trade mark

Yes, Flex is the trade mark of the inventer of the angle grinder, so in germany every angle grinder is called "flex".

Ok that's what I thought, funny! In Finland everybody knows it by the name "rälläkkä". Don't have a slightest idea where that comes from, though..
