Which chassis to choose?

good morning to all! We want to decide on a chassis to make the purchase. To cover our needs, in our search there are two chassis that we like. The first one is the Mercedes 1017 AK

and the second one is the magirus (Iveco) 110-17 aw.

Apparently Mercedes is more expensive to repair than Iveco. But at least you have the possibility to find pieces all over the world! Maybe Iveco is not so well known worldwide. I personally like the Iveco, but I guess it doesn't really matter which one you choose - both types are suitable vehicles to travel the world.
You should go with what your nose/stomach/feeling tells you - if possible, test drive both vehicles and then make your choice.

Availability of spare parts is one factor, but despite the fact that some Iveco dealers won't sell you stuff directly over the counter, getting Iveco parts is usually not a huge problem. Mercedes fans might tell you something else

This is a deeply religious question and will lead to controversial discussion.
Short form of the discussion is that the mercedes fraction will bring the argument of
world wide spare parts supply while the Deutz- fraction will reply that their rigs don't ever
break down so they won't ever need parts.

If i had to choose i'd go for a longer test drive in both of the vehicles and pick by gut feeling.

(edit: If money was not an issue i'd go with something with a little bit more punch, MB 1019 or
iveco 120-25, but that was not your question.)

Thanks Udo for the response, I meant that in my area I can not visit any truck! to be able to drive it and try it!
And if of course, there is a very huuge area to visit!
I have not yet turned 40, and I'm not in a hurry, I think everything is perfect..
For me traveling is like a food for the soul, it is not a competition. I just want to feel other places, live emotions and experiences, maybe be a father outside the system, there are many reasons why I would like to live alone in the truck for long periods, or forever in this life!

Im not 100% sure but you wont find a 6-Speed gearbox in both vehicles.
If really one implement, 6th gear is 1:1...
