Today i found out that my cylinder head (zylinderkopf) leaks from the injectors bed. Compression is passing trough.
Since i have the truck there is little pressure on the water tank when i open the lid. The truck was parked some years and this summer i went for a ride and found oil on the water tank. I open the engine and send the zylinderkopf to the test bank and today i got the bad new.

I have some options:

or i rectify the cylinder head but i will spend around 750€ (6 new injector bed 550€)

or i buy a second hand cylinder head, but then it must be tested and rectify, but i called some shops here and is being difficult to find one. From Germany there are some around 300€ or 650€ machined plus the transport.

or i buy a new cylinder head from Germany that costs around 850€ plus the transport to Portugal.

Next days i will have my brain on water trying to solve this situation...if someone has a good tip i would like to listen!

Wenn das Auto mehrere Jahre gestanden hat und kein Frostschutzmittel einefüllt war, kann ein Riß durch Frostschaden entschanden sein.

Vielleicht ist die Ursache nur ein undichten O-Ring. Die Einspritzdüsen sind in einer wassergekühlten Wärmeschutzhülse verschraubt. Diese Wärmeschutzhülse ist in den Zylinderkopf eingeschraubt und wird mit einem O-Ring gegen den Zylinderkopft abgedichtet.
Bei alten und undichten O-Ringen tritt Wasser an den Öffnungen der Einspritzdüsen aus.

Another crazy idea is to change the full engine for a OM366LA together with the gearbox GV4 65/6 9.0 (12gears).
I wanted to upgrade my OM352A so i can drive at 90kms/H at 2500rpm max.
I read all the post here in the forum regarding the gearbox change, turbo with Wastegate and LKK and i thought to do the "Walter conversion".
So yesterday came to my thoughts that with the money to fix the head of my engine, and the money i would spend on the gearbox conversion, i could buy a used OM366LA with a GV4 gearbox. I think it would be even less money so i can open that engine and test it.

zum Lösen und Einbau gibt es ein Spezial-Werkzeug. Die Schutzhülsen haben ein Gewinde M14 und werden mit Drehmoment 60Nm angezogen.

The cylinder head is ok. The O-rings were replaced and the head was tested again. All good.

Stefan, i bought the O-rings on Mercedes Porto and they were grey also. The cylinder head gasket set from Elring has the green O-rings.

Changed the rubber seal from the injection pipes. Bought gaskets from Victor Reinz and Elring and decided to install the Elring because looks much better quality.

es freut mich dass dein Zylinderkopf ok ist.
Wenn du den Zylinderkopf noch nicht montiert hast, solltest du überlegen ob du die Zylinderkopfschrauben erneuerst.
Om 352 hat normal Schrauben mit Sechskantkopf, wenn du Schrauben mit Zwölfkannt nimmst ( sind auch im Om366 ) hast du dir das Nachziehen gespart. Es sind Dehnschrauben.
