Could you give us your opinion about the Magirus 110-17 air-cooled ?
Because we heard about a problem with the cylinder head....6th or 5th cylinder...

In general, the 110-17 is a fine vehicle.

We heard about the 6eme and 5eme cylinder could warm more and of this fact damaged the cylinder head gasket...

Has somebody already had problems like that with this engine?

Hi,

these problems are only known in agricultural vehicles which are used in ploughing or something like that where the engines runs in a high power level without enough speed to cool the engine.

In trucks these problems are realy unusual.

Yes, in a truck you have more the problem to get the aircooled engine warm enaugh.

If the cooling fins are clean there should be no problem. Also the thermo sensor should be mounted on one of these cylinders.

Damages on head gaskets are very rare.

Vielleicht kann das jemand in´s Französische oder Englische übersetzten , meine bescheidenen Fähigkeiten reichen dafür leider nicht aus .

Hallo Familie Krom´s ,
nein , der BF6L913 und auch Artverwandte Motoren haben keinerlei Probleme mit dem 5. oder 6. Zylinderkopf . Auch nicht in der Landtechnik ........ zumindest wenn man einige wenige Dinge beachtet .

-Die Kühlrippen an den Zylindern und Köpfen sollten trocken (keine Ölschmierereien) und frei von Verunreinigungen sein .
-Der Ölkühler im Kühlluftkanal sollte trocken und sauber durchgängig sein .
-Bei Bergfahrten dafür sorgen , daß der Motor nicht allzu untertourig gefahren wird , der Kühlerlüfter braucht ein wenig mehr Drehzahl um für ausreichend Luftdurchsatz zu sorgen .

Das war es schon , speziell wenn der Ölkühler nicht sauber ist kann es passieren , daß der 5. Zylinder nicht genug Kühlluf bekommt und überhitzt .

Diese Maßnahmen reichen aus damit ihr sehr viel Spaß mit dem Motor habt und er euch laaange erhalten bleibt .
